I'm after a hand held vacuum, can anyone recommend one?

When I lived at home my mum had one of these, www.bestvac.net/tag/dirt-devil-dd150xl-handy-zip and it was excellent, it really picked up things well. That was about 15 yrs ago though so is there anything better now?

Not the Dyson handheld though, its massive an so heavy!

I love the duspn one and don't find it heavier than others. My friend has a dirtdevil that is rubbish.

Black and Decker do a good one - long lead and I believe they've just updated it however like all things they don't sell someone to come with it and do the vaccumming!

I bought one from Lakeland a few months ago & am pleased with it - just as well as my main vacuum cleaner is still in the repair shop!

Well, I've been and looked in Currys and the Dyson is too heavy for me, I must have weak wrists or something!!

It turns out my mum still has her dirt devil in the attic so I'm going to nick that, see if I like it. A nice cheap result!!

Thanks for all the advice though.
