Just spilt tea on the neutral carpet - help!

Just thought I'd curl up on the sofa with a cup of tea and finish my book and managed to pour my tea all over me and the carpet. What do I do to get it out of the carpet? Dab it up? Scrub it? Or both? We're in rented so really don't want to destroy the carpet.

I have done this!! I use tiny bit of washing powder in warm water. Then press dry with a white flannel.

Worked with red wine too! :)

I use vanish (the clothes stuff) and it worked really well when my dh vomited red wine all over our neutral coloured carpet. No stain anywhere.
