microfibre cloth - what am i doing wrong??

After reading about the wonders of microfibre cloths, I decided to take the plunge. Bought a Scotch-Brite? Bathroom Cloth. It's blue, soft and furry on one side and sort of a mesh on the other. I've tried using it wet and dry, either side. It just seems to shift gunk around instead of leaving my sink/ tub etc gleaming. What am I doing wrong??

is that the same as an e cloth?

i have one and it's fine, just have to wash it now and then

I never found them to be any good either - same as you!

It's still a clean cloth, I've hardly used it. Don't think it's the same as an ecloth...I am sure there's a technique to it. Everyone seems to think microfibre is a cleaning revolution!

:-D maryz...but jokes apart, i thought the whole idea was to do a wipe down with a microfibre in-between proper cleans? so then the bathroom wont ever be really dirty?

Thanks for the tips. I was actually using the cloth as an "in-between big cleaning" solution so my bathroom was actually not particularly dirty. Just wipe down the basin, bathtub and outside of toilet seat adn WC...I used to use baby wipes (they dont work too well either btw). Think am just going to 'demote' an old terry towel - use it dry to wipe down and chuck in washing machine. Just a bit annoyed at having the money go waste on the cloth though. Maybe I need to experiment a bit more - there seem to be many different kinds of these miracle cloths out there.

I don't think the Scotch Brite things are that great tbh. Go to Lakeland or John Lewis and you'll get a good microfibre cloth.
