flex rewind on Dyson broken

It's been a bit sluggish lately and now won't rewind at all. Any suggestions?

I have to say that Dyson were absolutely fab when our pole snapped. I called up the guy who told me the part and how much it would be (£28) and I ordered it there and then and it came within 2 days I think. It gave us another 2 yrs out of our Dyson when, if I hadn't called, DH would have taken it to the tip!
