You know on a fan assisted oven...

well mine has a dial with a picture of a fan and then another setting with a picture of a fan with a circle around it. Does the circle mean the fan is off or what? (We inherited the oven when we bought the house so I don't have the instructions).

TIA.

Do you know the make and/or model?

we have a fan oven, but you don't have a choice on whether or not the fan is on - the fan assisted oven is always a fan assisted oven - seems a different set up to yours.

Can you hear a difference when you select the different pictures?

If you turn the oven on and have the dial with the fan and circle does the fan come on?

You can get most instruction manuals on the Internet now - have you looked at the manufacturers website?

dexter and tangle - I can't tell any difference between the two settings as in they don't sound any different so I don't know.

Plumm - good point, I'll have a look.

Thanks

The setting with the fan is fan only function.
The setting with the fan and circle is for fan and element for heating the oven

massivemammaries- lol, I've never left it long enough on that setting to realise that it wasn't heating up.

Next stupid question then - wtf is that fan only setting for?

cooling function
