wicker basket is smelly

as there is a plastic bag in it but its the bottom that is smelly. I used this as a living room bin.

You can -

scrub it gently in water (if it's real wicker and not e.g. rush) and leave to dry thoroughly;

or

lift it into the (dry) bath, sprinkle the inside of the bin with a few drops of tea tree or lavender oil and leave to dry.

Good luck. To prevent it happening again, make sure there aren't any holes in the plastic bag (a lot of carrier bags have these, on purpose it seems!), don't pitch anything wet in, empty regularly, leave to air, blah blah blah.

I have a "rush" waste basket which has been relegated to recyclable paper only so it can't get stinky. Smile
