Vacuuming loop pile carpet

We have a heavenly new loop pile carpet, and we need to buy a new vacuum cleaner to look after it. I knew you had to use a cylinder rather than an upright, but the fitters left behind a leaflet which says that loop piles should be cleaned 'using the suction head only'. Does that mean just the little round hole at the end of the tube? I knew we had to avoid rotating bristles, but am I really supposed to vacuum the whole house that way? Argh!

Bumping in case any vacuumophiles have come on for the evening... I've now read enough stuff to be pretty sure I'm just going to get a cylinder one with no turbo brush, but any tips from loop-pile owners would be welcome.

I think it means the normal head only with the brush clipped upwards. Hope this helps

Thanks for humouring me MickyLee -- that seems obvious now Blush. Phew. I had a bit of freak out when I read the leaflet.
