professional oven clean? Worth it?

Wondered if any of you had had this done and whether it was worth it? Have never had a clean oven since moving in 8 years ago and despite having tried shop products it still smokes etc from having fat on the elements etc. Nor can I get black stuff off from the shelving. Would professional oven clean deal with those areas? Frankly it's disgusting and smoking and with 3 kids I don't feel like devoting significant time to fighting with it.

Yes. I haven't had it done, so I don't know how much it costs. But my next door neighbour has had it done and her oven looked brand new. She was so chuffed with it she made me go and see it!

Yes!
I could have written your post last month. It cost about £50 and took 2 hours.

hannahsaunt · 06/10/2010 11:01

Every penny (esp when I tried using the Lakeland stuff myself and ended up with a horrid chemical burn on my arm where it accidentally splashed).

I think mine cost £80 but that was for oven, replacement light and hob. Worth every penny. It looked as if the whole thing was brand new.

Itsjustafleshwound · 06/10/2010 11:02

Yes, Yes, Yes ...!!

My oven looked brand new and the chap had all the right equipment to do the job. I think the price depends on what needs to be cleaned - trays, racks, oven tops ...

blueshoes · 06/10/2010 23:37

No. £3.99 Oven Pride should do it.

Thank you for this thread - it's given me the kick up the backside I needed to book the oven clean that I have been putting off for months years.
