hi i am new to this lol so excuse any mistakes!!!
Basically me and my to children 1 son age 6 and 1 daughter age 5 have recently moved to a 3 bedroom property from a 2 and the flat is really nice and livable with nice decor throughtout apart from having to paint and accessorise the childrens bedrooms as they were not used by the previous tenant hence why she moved that was all that needed to be done.We have been here for 2 months and people keep asking me when i am going to strt decorating i have explained as well as shown many of them that at the moment the place dont need decorating and i would rather save up for a couple of years and do it properly how i want it than just waste money on cheap paint just so as i can say i decorated.I do have plans in mind and have seen some gorgeous chocolate and lime wall paper for the living room but as my kids are still at that young age i feel it would be a waste when i know that my kids will not appercaiate what i have done as my son has behavioural problems and likes to draw over the walls :( and its not that i dont want to decorate its just the decor is really nice and fresh looking the move was eally sudden so i think it may have been done this year sometime.Does it seem ok to wait until i have saved up and do it proprly i also want to get new sofa nd carpets in bedrooms or should i start doing it now knowing that i would prob have to do it again in a few years Confused i am not tight with money lol but would it seem trampish not to decorate and live in th eproperty as it is thanks for looking

I would do the kids rooms as I imagine they only need to be painted. Could you paint a wall with the black chalkboard paint so your ds has a wall to decorate?
I would be tempted to save up for the living room and do it a bit later.

No leave it -we have just moved to a 4 bed and the room my dd has gone in had perfect wallpaper -we have bought some wall decals and nice bedding and left the wallpaper on.
It looks great.
Don't worry what other people think at all.

We moved in 10 years ago and still haven't redecorated all the rooms, because the people before us had obviously decorated just before selling the place and it just seemed stupid to pull off all the nice stuff they had put up for no reason.

Just do the childrens rooms and say you like the living room fine how it is, and that you were really happy to move into somewhere that had just been decorated so you wouldn't have to do it straight away.

If you're happy with it leave it and then you can work out exactly what you want to do with the place once you've been there for a while
