Baking set

My French sil has recently developed an interest in what I'd call English/American style baking - cookies, cupcakes, muffins etc.

I'd like to put together a little baking essentials set for her, and perhaps find a baking book with some yummy cake and biscuits recipes (she had to search through my generic cookbook for recipes last time).

So, what would go in your perfect mini baking set? (Possibly best to imagine a set for a child's birthday present).

Thanks very much! :)

How niceGrin I would choose Mary Berry's simple cakes as a good place to start. Also a cookie sheet,a muffin tin and a pair of 7" sponge tins.

I really could go on and on, but this selection imho covers most of the basics and would be enough to get her started.

Super, thanks for that! I'll look up Mary Berry and find some equipment. Would you recommend silicon bakeware or plain non-stick?

Thanks again! :)
