ds has some combat style trousers with elasticated waist,
he has only had them on twice, when i put them on the airer to dry, they dry quite quick because of the material however the waistband takes forever to dry as it is elasticated, hence the foisty smell Sad
any suggestions?

The waist band needs to dry faster in order not to smell. Put them on the radiator to dry? Or tumbledry.

Try white vinegar for the smell; soak in hot water with a good slurp of the vin, before washing.
