Dishwasher help - can't disable rinse aid

Have a new bosch dishwasher but the rinse aid light is lit. we want to disable it as we don't need rinse aid with our tablets. Following the instructions in the manual (press timer prog button and main switch) which is supposed to bring up a '1' which isn't, just bringing up the timer settings.

Can anyone help?

i haven't actually tried to disable it because i can't be bothered to find the manual

so my salt and rinse aid lights are just constantly on. i am use to it now tho! lol

Bumperlicious · 02/10/2010 21:11

Try filling where the rinse aid goes with water. That works with my dishwasher although it isn't a Bosch.

I have a bosch too (had it 2yrs now) and like thisisyesterday I have never disabled the rinse aid, or the salt ones - so permanently on.

Has been washing my dishes absolutely fine for 2 years so I wouldn't worry too much Grin

We have a bosch too, as do a few of out friends. Afaik on our model it is not possible to disable the lights for salt/rinse aid.

We have just got used to ignoring it; also mention it to anyone who is staying/housesitting etc.

onepieceoflollipop · 02/10/2010 21:17

perhaps this is the new mnet "must have" - a bosch dishwasher with permanent lighting! Grin

MaMoTTaT · 02/10/2010 21:19

I only really noticed them again recently as DS1 has started not only loading the dishwasher but putting it on for me as well sometimes - and he asked about them Grin

onepieceoflollipop · 02/10/2010 21:25

MaMo I noticed them not being on recently as I found some old powder in the cupboard so did actually top up the salt and rinse aid. It looks odd with just the operating lights on!

I have a bosch dishwasher and although I use the 'all in one' tabs I still put salt and rinse aid in, as they don't cost all that much.

bit belt and braces by the sound of it mumdrivenmad
