Roomba - dead battery :(

Only had it a year, is this normal?

Anyone else had to buy a new battery?

We bought a new battery for our roomba silver but it was a few years old and had been used daily. We got the battery from ebay.

The batteries do go quite often. A year is sooner than most, but well within the normal bounds I think. Unfortunately they're not always covered under warrenty.

You could try the recommended reset battery procedure - I thin it's detailed on the Roomba site and there's a video on youtube telling you what to do - ours died just under a year old, did the reset procedure and it's been fine since - worth a try definitely.
