What vacuum cleaner would you recommend

for a family with 4 daughters each with waist length hair. My current cleaner has just burned out and is full of hair that it has picked up off the floor. Now's the time to buy a new one, do I go for a 'cat & dog' cleaner on the basis that it's going to be picking up a lot of hair or would it not be suitable for long human hair? Advice please.

I found the sebo felix v.good. Sturdily built with an excellent UK base helpline.
Miele cat and dog was good, but the plastic catches broke fairly quickly, and can't be fixed.

We have a Miele S5210 and I love it. We don't have any pets but it copes with all 2 DS's throw at it! I'd def recommend it.

We've got the Miele S570 (I think that's the model number, it's worn off the front as we've had it so long - but it was the cheapest Miele cylinder vacuum cleaner that they had in John Lewis). We've had it 6 years and I've dropped it down the stairs numerous times and it just keeps going. Never had any problems with the parts on it like reptile has. We have 2 cats and I have very long hair that covers our carpets regularly!
