Hand washing

Do you have any tips for some more expensive items? I have just bought 2 celtic sheepskin jumpers that are HW only (frowns). They are lovely but usually with handwash stuff I'll either put in the machine and hope for the best or leave in a sink with some persil. These items are usually scarfs or something I am not too fussed on if it goes wrong.

These 2 jumpers are gorgeous though so need to do it properly!

I use a handwash detergent (any one will do) and then fill up with cool water and swish the clothes around for a couple of minutes. Then I rinse them in cold water and a final rinse in the bowl with a bit of fabric softener. Finally do a spin in the machine.

Thanks. Will have a look at handwash stuff in ASDA later.

I got some dreft which is for handwashing so will use that.

Do you use fabric conditioner?

I use fabric softener on wool but not on cashmere.

Would suggest just a short gentle spin in the machine. It might put some bad creases in if its too fast and long.
