Does anything remove Blutack or chewing gum from carpets?

Not sure whether it is one or the other, but a lovely blob trodden in right in the middle of ds carpet.

It doesn't have much pile for me to cut it out. Any other options?

Marking my spot, we have blutack in DD2's bedroom carpet too.

I think ice/freezing the item is supposed to work on clothes, so you can them just chip the gum off.

If you do try this, put the ice in a plastic bag so it does not melt everywhere.

Well you can get freeze-spray stuff that works on chewing gum...failing that try holding ice against it, when it is cold it goes hard and can be picked off more easily. Good luck!

use the nozzel bit of a hoover to prise it off, it will take forever but if there is a more effective way i haven't heard of it! and ds had tons in his carpet Hmm

razor?!

LinenBasket · 20/09/2010 14:11

i have tried prizing it with the hoover, a knife and assortment of other objects, but to no avail. ds1's room is bad enough but ds2 seems to have more blu tak than capet showing.

DD just has hair straightener burns all over hers Hmm
