Does my memory serve me correct and there is a website where you can list the books and someone will take just the one they want. or are my to be let go books destined for the charity shop?

thelostbook.net/get-involved/bookcrossing/?

There's readitswapit, bookcrossing, greenmetropolis, amazon, freecycle/freegle for books. I do a regular book swap with friends where I invite them all over and ask them to bring three books that they've enjoyed; we swap them so we all have a few more books to read. Then I let them help themselves to my old books - whatever's left gets charity shopped. It works really well.

LCPO I like the sound of that.

It was lovely, and sociable too. I think I gave away about 100 and the 100 that were left went to charity.

And all your friends will think of you when they enjoy the books...bet it was a great evening too.

Exactly! We have another one next month; really looking forward to it (not least because I am running out of shelf space again).
