Hi has anyone ever used those damp absorbing crystals, only there is a smell of damp in one of my kitchen cupboards and my dad told me you can buy something that absorbs the damp and therefore the smell.
If anyone has used one can you tell me what make/device is the best?

Oh, clicked thinking I can help, but have no idea what make the thing is and i'm not at home.

They do work, and I'd imagine that they are pretty generic in their application, so FYI they do them in the 99p shop round me, so you could try it without shelling out the £10 or whatever they are in Homebase etc.

Hi there,

Yes they do work but only in a small area - like your cupboard (any bigger than that and you might be needing a dehumidifier).

I'm in Oz but I found that all the brands are much of a muchness so go with the cheapies and see if they work.

If not you should investigate where the source of the dampness is (and I speak from mega-damp experience that I hope you don't have).

Good luck.
