Help - Do I need to clean my oven? How?

Can't believe I've never had to deal with oven cleaning before, but anyway...

Last time I used the oven, some olive oil dripped onto the bottom. Now when I turn it on, it doesn't quite smoke, but smells quite burnt.

If I bake something in it as it is, will whatever I bake smell smoky/burnt?

Should I clean up the spilt oil? How? I've heard that some things just burn off by themselves, but do you have to turn up the heat really high for a while to do that? And does it work with oil?

If it matters, it's a 10yr old Neff fan oven that came with the house

Thanks!

Phone an oven cleaning company up. Best £50 I spent last year :)

Ovenpride. There was a thread about it a week or two ago - I used it and it was brilliant. Someone also did a whole load of photos.

oven pride best thing. Just use marigolds instead of the gloves you get with it and it burns like hell if you get it on you :) i know

And then get a teflon sheet so you never have to do it again... Grin
