Desperately need a new mattress as mine is knackered - have a budget of up to £800 for a kingsize pocket sprung.

What have you got? And would you recommend it?

this one from feather and black, and yes I would recommend it.

But then we slept for years on a cheapo argos mattress that was like sleeping on an After Eight mint, so I'm sure that anything would seem like an improvement after that.

We've got a silentnight no roll together one, and another silentnight (the second cheapest in the range - gold or something like that) on our spare bed and both are really comfortable. We didn't pay anything close to £800 for either of them. I think Silentnight are a good brand and would buy again.

Relyon- had it for nearly 10 years and still makes me go AHHHHHH when I climb into bed

MissisBoot · 18/09/2010 16:35

lovely - thanks.

There is a feather and black not far from me so will go and have a look - Have also tried out a Relyon one and it was heavenly - may be slightly over our budget though so will start googling.

I'll have a look at silent night too thanks!

We have a Hilton bed, DP used to work for them so got a decent staff discount but I think you can purchase them even if you don't work for them.

It's a good bed, should last a long time, apparently.

John Lewis ortho pocket at £400 with a 10 year guarantee. It is fab. We had a silent night one befroe and it only lasted a year, i lost the receipt so i couldn't return it.

I have a habitat pocket sprung which is great, still going strong after 7 years. So good we got another for the spare bedroom and everyone always has a good nights sleep there. Even my fil, who generally moans about things, said he slept better than normal in there.

I got a white company pocket sprung for my ds's single bed and it's heavenly to lie on too. I was thinking I may go for a double version when I change our mattress.

I don't think this is it ,as we paid £799 about 5 years back, but it is similar. You must try them out in store- don't just buy unseen.

PomPotty · 19/09/2010 21:20

Sorry for hijacking... maryz.... can I ask what make you have, we got memory foam pillows last year and found them just brilliant, when we can afford it we'd love to invest in a memory foam mattress. TIA

domesticslattern · 19/09/2010 22:03

Warren Evans do some good mattresses. And don't bat an eyelid if you spend hours lying on them in the store. God I love Warren Evans.

Have gone for a Relyon one - can't wait for it to arrive - I felt refreshed just from lying on it in the shop :o
