Can I put it in the washing machine? It is spattered with blood Shock but it is ds's favourite toy and don't really want to be looking at a big stain everytime he uses it [double yuck]. Or shall I just scrub at it best I can? Will detergent mess with it?

DS shat on his HmmBlush I scrubbed it with one of those sponge with a green scourer sides. Try vanish on it, or scrubbing it with bio powder?

BooBooGlass · 07/09/2010 11:42

Grin Trust me, it's only a matter of time before ds pees on it as well so I'd best be prepared. WIll try scrubbing with some bio powder :)

it'll be fine in the washer on handwash, we used to wash ours all the time Grin

DuncanDisorderly · 07/09/2010 12:05

I wash mine all the time in a normal 40 degree wash

HughRinal · 07/09/2010 12:11

washed ours but still didn't get the muddy footprints off

BooBooGlass · 07/09/2010 17:53

Balls, I washed it on 40, it's not done any damage but the blood stain is still there. SHould I try salt on it or something?

Is it still wet Boo Boo? If so the stain may fade when it is dry? Wait for it to dry and look again. Otherwise wait for a sunny day (haha) then re wash and hang in as bright sun as you can find.

BooBooGlass · 07/09/2010 17:57

No, I've had it hanging up so it's dry.

The Stain is about a week old. Ok, several Blush
I fear it may be curtains for the mat. I think dried in blood tends to be a bit of bitch, no? I have no outside line to hang in the sun, though I could take it to the park I suppose...

Sorry I just had a chuckle at the thought of you draping the mat over the climbing frame at your local park, flapping hands at dcs who try to go near! Grin

Ime yes blood is notoriously hard to get out of clothing etc. I would try once more. Soak in cold salt solution overnight, then prewash at 40 with bio powder (decent one like ariel) then wash on normal 40 wash.

Then take it to park Wink
