Phone your local council and explain the situation Im sure they will know how to deal with it.

scurryfunge · 06/09/2010 13:41

Do you put food waste into bags before putting it into the bin?

roundthebend4 · 06/09/2010 13:46

were not allowed to put any bags in the bin not even compost ones

Council said just to keep bleaching them aqnd move bin further from house

roundthebend4: do an advanced search - put "maggots" in search thread titles only and then 01/01/09 to today for the dates. There have been 7 or 8 threads on this subject and I'm sure you'll pick up some helpful tips there.

Ah, ok....our council is different. It is only our garden waste bin that can't have bags in.

You could invest in a jet washer and do that once a month or pay for a wheelie bin cleaner to come round once a month, on the day the bins are emptied. Our are costs about £3.50 a month.

  • our area, that should read
