Miele Washing Machines vs ISE

Started and earlier thread re ISE machine but not many replies.

So I want to buy a washing machine that will last. My last one (a Bendix) went for 20 years and sadly gave away when we moved. Now looking for another long runner. I'm mainly interested in eco friendly credentials and am prepared to pay more for something well built.

So the choice is Miele vs ISE.

Anyone got either of these. What do you think?

I have a Miele and its on its 8th yr no problems, and its moved house which usually seems to kill all my white goods HTH Smile

I have a Miele (Prestige Plus 6 so one of the cheaper end Miele machines). I can't tell you about its longevity as it's quite new but it's lovely. Quiet (for a washer) - clever and pretty. The Comet men who delivered it said that they never have problems with Mieles and that it will probably last us for 20 years.

my PiL have just had to change their meile after 24 years, there were no problems with it at all in that time and they were devastated when it died.
They bought another meile.

Don't know about ISE machines at all so no comment about them.

I have a Meile . Gosh just looked up details-- we bought it in 1994. Had one call out for bra wire caught in drum. Fabulous machine . Gosh 16 years old , where does the time go ?

No experience of ISE, but I'm very happy with my Miele - it's quite eco friendly as it weighs the clothes each wash and uses reduced amounts of water and detergent accordingly.

Also, it's light on general energy consumption as I usually use the 30 mins express wash at 30 degrees and I've never had anything not come out clean.

I do use a 60 degree hygiene wash for towels and sheets and cleaning cloths though, but we monitor our electricity use with an Owl consumption meter and it uses much less than our last machine (which was a built in Smeg that came with the house).

Additionally it came with a 10 year guarantee, and they are built to last (thus not filling up landfill with crappy defunct white goods).
