I know the answer really- some osrt of underlay but wonder if I need to DIY something, or if there is anything I can buy?
Bascally, I want to put a small coloured kilim in front of the open fire once we start using it, to stop ash/sparks etc damaging cream carpet- even when just cleaning it out.
I know from past experience though that colour does transfer from rugs, or the carpet discolours if you leave the rug down all the time- I will roll it up and put away when not in use.
Can you buy anything to put under rugs or will I have to use something like an old sheet and try to sew it on 4 corners?
