Discoloured bathroom taps!

We had our new shower fitting about a year ago including new bath taps, still looked lovely and new before we went on holiday this summer!

During a spot of cleaning before we went away, I applied limescale removing gel around the taps and plughole as it had built up. Unfortunately I forgot about it and it was left on during the two weeks we were away. Even though I've now rinsed it all off it's left the taps and plughole quite discoloured, almost rusty looking!Hmm Is there anything I can do to rescue it?

Has it removed the limscale? What colour are the tapsetc.?

Yes it's removed the limescale, taps are chrome so the discolouring really shows up!

So you could try a spot with white vinegar as an experiment(hot WV works better).
