Getting oil based paint out of clothes

Can anyone tell me how to get oil based paint out of clothes? We did some 'marbling' today which was great fun as a craft activity but some of the paint got on a favourite t-shirt and Vanish doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Many thanks

White spirit? If not, go the whole hog and paint the shirt ;).

Haha, this I do know!

yes turpentine or white spirit. Put it on cotton wool and dab on the paint to wet the area of the stain. Don't use too much as it can bleach and weaken the fabric. Then loads and loads of washing up liquid, masging into the turps softened paint until the couour of the pigment is in the bubbles and you can see the oil seperating to squeeze out a greasy residue. Depending on the colour, and intensity of the pigment it may leave a lingering stain that'll fade with washing and sunlight.

The turps willmake your clothes stink, so wash it several times after wards and leave outside to air
