another Trofast question - white or wooden frames

Which is better - wooden frame with the grooves pre-cut for the boxes, or the white frame that you have to screw the guide rails into?

From what i can ascertain from the website, white are slightly cheaper, and the sizes are listed as slightly bigger. I don't mind paying for the wood if it's going to be better, as they are to overhaul my understairs kitchen cupboards so need to be hard-wearing!

Also, if you buy one of the combo packs with the boxes included, do you have to have the colours as listed in the picture? I'm a bit of a purist, and would prefer all-white boxes, so would rather buy the bits separately if that is the caseSmile

Phew, who would have thought sorting a storage system would be so complicated?! (i blame the pregnancy hormones/mad nesting urge i've got going at the momentGrin)

Thanks again

we went for white in the kids rooms, but that was because we have put expedit units on top so it all matched. They are still very hard wearing, wipe clean easily . Sorry don't have any wooden ones to compare with.

We have wooden ones on our lounge. Bought them over the white because they look nicer and you can replace the boxes with shelves when DCs are older!

They also stand me climbing on them to clean, and i'm no lightweight!

Thank you for your answers. Wooden it is then!

Yes you can buy it all seperately its all just one the shelves and you grab what you want

As to the difference, I have both. the white cleans up nicely, the wooden is a little bit eaiser to assemble

The important thing to note, is that the white the boxes go in wide, where the wood they go into longways IYSWIM?

I had to move the wooden upstairs as there wasnt room to pull the crates out in understairs cupboard, so do bear that in mind

I have one of each and though the wooden is great with the slats the sideway box thing is annoying

however the white one the plastic runners do come out if you put too heavy boxes in ( this maybe because ours was second hand.

I think you can buy the colours of boxes you want ( we only had to buy the boxes as our units were both second hand)

i really reccomend them though our toy storage has been revolutionised and we have the stair like unit ( in white)and can store bigger toys like garages on the top.
