Smoky smells in car

We've just bought a car that was owned by smokers and despite having it valeted it still smells really strongly.

I've put the mats in the washign machine and febreze'd the inside, hung an air freshener off the mirror and still its horrid.

Anything I else anyone can suggest please? Smile

Time Smile

You could try dusting the seats with bicarb, leaving it overnight and hoovering off. Maybe try an oder neutraliser like Oust?

put a bowl of white vinegar in the footwell and leave overnight.

i occasionally smoke in my car (when on my own!) and this is how i get rid of the smoky smell. it works really well.

proper coffee helps too, leave a small tub in the footwell, should help, at the very least you will get a nicer smell. Grin

Fab thanks - have done the bicarb and coffee tonight but DS used up the last of the vinegar doing science experiments Hmm

how is the faggy car now? Any better?

If all else fails (shouldnt, but still) the dealerships have this "smoke bomb" that they put in cars to de fag them. I know because when DH bought his car the first thing I said when we got it was "it stinks of cig smoke" and I couldnt stand it - really heavy smoker stylee.

Anyway, they put the bomb in and it was much much better. Time, fresh air and lots of air freshener has helped - plus numberous valets.
