Making a house/home feel and look special

When I have spent the day cleaning everything top to bottom and it is all gleaming I like to have fresh flowers for that extra touch.

Just wondering what things you do to make your home feel special when all is clean and tidy.

Flowers....

Very envious of your gleaming home!

Light up the expensive candles.

realitychick · 27/08/2010 17:26

Flowers definitely, lamps on everywhere - no overhead lights, snuggly freshly washed throws on the sofas, favourite music, some good baking smells wafting through the house.

I like to have a tidy kitchen and then put the under cupboard lights on and turn off the main light so it feels really cosy.

Another vote here for expensive candles, in fact I am now thinking of lighting mine as soon as the DC are in bed. Smile

Tidy kitchen and the under cupboard lights on.

Flowers.

Smell of baking or coffee.

Lamps on in the living room.

Lovely :)

My house looks nothing like this atm, it is in need of serious tidying!

Posh hand wash and velvet throws sound good.

What I'd really love is a wood burning stove or open fire. Not quite there yet...
