Any ideas please on what you use to clean your windows- I usually use metho and newspaper- my mum always did- but it just is so labour intensive!!!

This window cleaning site said dishwashing liquid. Is that a good idea?

I use vingar and water, give it a good washing then use a dry microfibre cloth to buff it up. Sparkling! If ive run out of vinegar i have used washing up liquid before but you have to buff harder with the mircofibre cloth after to get streaks out.

If you get one of the microfibre cloths specially designed to clean windows, you can just use water - I put it on with a general purpose microfibre cloth that takes most of the dirt off and then shine with the special one...

I use window cleaner Biscuit

mamaloco · 26/08/2010 13:47

I did use dishwashing liquid and it works fantastic. better than the window cleaner.
Dilute dishwashing liquid in hot water, sponged it on the window, rubbing the stains, and squich it off the window with one of those Ikea window squishy thingy (obviously I don't know how you call them, can't look in the dictionary as I don't know the word in my native language either Blush) it is a T with a caoutchouc band on the top bar, the I being the handle.
very little work compare with other methods and cleaner windows.

Pink Windolene. Comes up a treat.

E-cloth and water.

No streaks ever, green and takes seconds.

mellymooks · 26/08/2010 15:28

Method window cleaner and microfibre cloth. Smells divine, no harsh chemicals, windows sparkle.

omydarlin · 26/08/2010 18:34

vinegar water and newspaper to buff!

castille · 26/08/2010 18:36

I second the green e-cloths with water

Better than anything else in the whole wide worldGrin

MarthaLovesMatthew · 28/08/2010 11:29

Yep - another one for the vinegar (I even once used malt vinegar once when I didn't have anything else) and newspaper.

Works a treat! :)

fabsoopergroovy · 28/08/2010 11:57

Green e-cloths? Tell me more.

castille · 29/08/2010 08:28

These are what you need. They are brilliant. Wet the light green one, wipe the window, then buff with the dark one. Nothing else required for sparkly windows super quick.

Sold Smile.
