Tell my about your lovely freestanding oven please

The time has come to replace our 30 year old monster oven which swallows electricity substations for breakfast. I'd like a freestanding oven with a gas hob and probably (tho i'm open to persuasion) an electric fan assisted oven. two ovens in fact. with a fancy timer.

Can you recommend anything especially? Or shall i go to john lewis and let them tell me what to get?

I love my Smeg - gas top and electric oven and elctric half oven/grill thing.

The gas hob is very even, and also very good temperature control on the oven.

The clock/timer is easy to use. Only problem with it is that when the toddler was younger used to always mess around with it so it used to go off all the time!

It's similar to this one.

We have had it for 8 years and it's quite easy to keep clean and still in good condition.
