Weekly routines

Hi all.

My house is not clean. I need to start getting it sorted because it is driving me crazy and DS is on the verge of crawling and I dread to think what he will pick up from our floors.

Housework at the moment involves blitzing the worst bits when people come round, but I do do some stuff every day, like laundry, loading and emptying dishwasher, making beds, tidying up and wiping kitchen surfaces.

I don't really know how to establish a weekly routine, which is what I would really like to do. I am on mat leave at the moment so am home every day, and would ideally like to get all the housework done while DS is alsleep (which should give me 1.5 - 2 hours per day). Is this even possible? Have no idea how long I shopuld spend cleaning per day, nor what I should do and how often!

Soa nyone who has a routine which works, please share!

how about 2 days cleaning (ie hoover dust and tidy) upstairs... (say bedroom(s) 1 day, and bathroom(s) the next (include down stairs loo)
and 2 days down stairs (1 day kitchen), 1 day living rooms
and another day for the hall / stairs and landing

I would say that would take 1 hour max so you still get an hour to yourself Smile

Its easy to put dishwasher on last thing at night, and washing machine on 1st thing in the morning, and empty dishwasher in the breakfast routine.
wipe the kitchen surfaces every time you use them, and sweep the kitchen floor eacg evening before you turn dishwasher on.

Make beds upon waking.

The 1st week will be the worst but its much quicker and easier to clean a house / rooms that are already clean, so once thats done, the rest should be fine Smile

my cleaner blitzes the whole house in 2 hours, once a week, so im sure 1 hour a day, 5 days a week in more than plenty unless your house is huge Smile
