have you cleaned the seal on your washing machine, cleaned the dispenser drawer and run your machine on a 90 degree wash with detergent (with no clothes in)? It could be a build up on the inside of the machine - is it liquid/powder you use and is it bio/non-bio?

I use powder, non bio. The drawer is gunked up actually, I will go and clean it.

Clean out the drawer - but I bet the draining tubes and inside of your machine is dirty too. Do a wash on the hottest setting with no detergent and a cup of white vinegar added. That will clean out the gunk. I bet it's your machine that's the problem.

You should do a maintenance wash on your machine once a month. Hottest, longest setting with biological powder, clean round the door seal and scrub the powder dispenser. Liquids make the machine gunky.

I have a problem with black mould on my door seal that I can't seem to get rid of and it has helped to do this regularly. I was told by a man from hotpoint that washing on 40degrees isn't good as it is not hot enough to kill bugs and bacteria.
