Why are my new Modal nightdresses from Em and Em saying don't tumble dry?

It's Modal - a soft, non-shrinkable jersey.

I've bunged them in the tumble anyway as there is literally no line drying space left at the moment.

If you hang them on a coat hanger they'll dry just as fast...

i seem to think that if they put that it is tumble dry-able they have have done lots of tests to prove it is. which they can't be arsed to do so they err on the side of caution.

can't remember why i think this is the case tho...
