Tumble dryer question

gracehedley · 20/08/2010 11:40

Last night I used my new condenser tumble dryer for the first time and when it had finished I opened the door to check if washing was dry - which it almost was - so then I shut the door again and left it in till this morning. But this morning it was much wetter than it had been last night Shock
Would you expect this to happen? Should I have taken it out as soon as it had finished?
Thanks Smile

yes, because the warm air in the dryer holds the moisture. so it evaporates as soon as you take it out. if you leave it in the water condeses again on the clothes. (at least that is how I explain it to myself)
so the answer is, yes take it out as soon as the dryer is finished.

Is this the general opinion then - you should remove washing from tumble dryer when it's finished or if you leave it in you can end up with damp washing again?

The advice from the lovely repairmman who fixed mine after it once you open the door you have to leave it open. If it stays shut it is fine.
