grrrrr new washing machine not taking fabric conditioner any ideas why????

we recieved it on saturday and i put it through a cycle but it didn't take the conditioner-i then tried the rinse which did nothing. I sent it back and recived a new machine this morning and again its not taking the conditioner arrrrraaaaggggghhhhh have to wait for an engineer now which may take a week. It is just bugging me!!!

In my washing machine there is a little cover at the back of the conditioner compartment that has to be on correctly for the siphon tube to work. Check your instructions to see if it gives any details of this.
