Dim question about gas cookers

About to re-do our kitchen and am having a new gas cooker. The one I want has a wok ring; can I use the ring for 'normal' cooking in an ordinary pan too or would it be too powerful for that and burn everything?

Blush Feel like I should know the answer to this already, but havent a clue

Thanks Maryz. That answers my question - as long as its not too fierce for large pans and frying pans, it will be just fine. PS I'm not going to tell the teenagers in our house that its great for cooked breakfasts, I can see them queuing now!
