painting over kitchen paint - how

How on earth do i paint over the paint i have in my kitchen? it is the special kitchen/bathroom kind which is really shiney, the easy to clean kind but i want to paint over the top with matt and i am concerned it will peel off without some kind of preperation

Just asked hubby this for you - there was a sharp intake of breath then a bit of chin rubbing lol - but he's suggested rubbing down with fine sandpaper. I thought you could pva it then paint but he's not convinced.

I've just done mine and just painted straight over it with no probs
