Well the title says it all really.
We've given our notice on the house we live in. Got a phonecall from letting agent yesterday saying there were 5 people interested in viewing house....managed to put them off until this evening. But have just got back from a weeks camping and the house is a complete tip with washing and stuff everywhere. Also have 3DC's ( 4y, 2y and 3m) to entertain.
Where do I start???
Help!

You dont need to. Just ring the agents today, confirm the visits and tell them you have just got back from holiday so not to expect it to be tidy.

As long as the house is clean and tidy when you leave that is all that matters.

Set a timer - 10 minutes blast tidying in each room - fill all the sinks with hot water and detergent, stick plates etc in to soak in kitchen sink.

Bag up dirty laundry into bin bags and stick in car if you have one - can take them to laundry if you want or just store til viewers gone.

Give older DC baby wipes and tell them to wipe every surface they can reach

Flylady may also help with more sensible solutions than mine

park the children in front of a dvd and I agree with BB just warn them what to expect but don't stress out about it.

I suppose you could stuff things in a few binbags and stash in the cupboard if you wanted till the visits are over.

I know I don't have to tidy up and if I wasn't going to be in the house when they came I wouldn't bother. But I am going to be here and will be really embarrassed about the state of the house with strangers.
The 10 mins in each room thing is good. I think I'll do that while DC watch a DVD.
I was thinking as long as the bathrooms and kitchen is clean then the rest isn't so important.

Och don't worry
I've been viewing places for my mum and its the space I'm interested in not what's in it. Pick up dirty pants maybe and bung some bleach down the loo but otherwise leave it!

if you are happy with the agent showing them around when you are not there, go out?
