Black mould on washing machine seal?

JemAndEllie · 02/08/2010 16:02

any tips on removing the black mould from my washing machine seal? i would usually use bleach but as it's rubber I don't think it'd be a good idea.

I don't even know why it came on there as i always do a regular service wash and always leave the door open?

Any tips?

What about white vinegar?

JemAndEllie · 03/08/2010 14:20

Ive tried that. I do a maintenence wash on my machine once a month. I put a litre of white vinegar in the drum and do it on the hottest longest cycle. The white vinegar is good for limescale I think and hasn't seemed to make any impression on the mould

I've also tried Jif stuff on a toothbrush to no avial.
