Help! Line dried cottons smelling fusty/mouldy

I've been line drying (indoors) a lot recently, and have noticed that a lot of cotton things are starting to smell almost mouldy.

I am particularly gutted because just washed babies beautiful dungarees (cotton lined cords) yesterday, they are still slightly damp and they already smell a bit fusty.

Other than going back to tumble drying, or using some sort of scary smelly stuff in the wash how can I keep stuff smelling nice?

Try doing a very hot wash to clean your washing machine. Mine needs doing, thanks for reminding me!

Mine were like this and I realised that I had accidentally bought non bio .

I always use non-bio - how does that cause the problem? [stupid emoticon]
