Hi. Well, that's it really. The oil is Sadolin Floor Oil and where the floor was thirsty, it has sunk in, but on the less well trodden areas it's dried on the surface in a shiny sticky coating that scratches easily and looks awful. Any experience? I'm hoping it will even out with wear. What do you you use on wooden floors?

it will even out with wear, i use the same oil . afterwards i put two tea towels on my feet and ice skate around the floor to rub it all in IFYSWIM - has it dried yet ? if not you could try this now.

i my experience it always much much longer to dry than what it says on the intructions.

Did you sand it first?

Very useful pointers on the sanding... I like the tea towels trick! Also makes me wonder if a lighter application is better. I think I would feel more comfortable with something like a beeswax polish actually. There did seem to be a suspicious lack of elbow grease involved with just painting on the oil. Thanks all.
