GTech rechargeable electric sweeper. Great for the odd crumb and you unplug it to use it. I got mine from QVC or Ideal World (TV shopping channels) but can't remember which.

It's fab for a quick pick up and it's not a major pain to use.

This is interesting..anyone know where to buy a manual carpet sweeper? Are they made any more?

Seona1973 · 01/08/2010 17:02

I got one from Argos. There are a few on this page

MrsDinky · 01/08/2010 19:13

We've had a manual Ewbank one for a few years, use it nearly every day, and the DCs like doing it too. Probably got it from Argos, but can't remember.

If you're up in north east you can have my g tech rechargeable electric sweeper.
Would rather vacuum.

AlaskaNebraska · 01/08/2010 19:20

OOH OOH OOH YES
i adore my gtech i won on a comp on here

SO much easier than hoovering and recharged like a phone

I bought a Gtech SW10 from Argos a few months ago after dust buster finally gave up the ghost and it's BRILLIANT! I use it mainly in the kitchen and dining room, usually three times a day after meals. It's great for a quick 'spruce up' but obviously not as good as a vacuum cleaner, but it wouldn't be for £30!

AlaskaNebraska · 03/08/2010 08:49

So agree isreal timesaver

Jumbs · 03/08/2010 10:50

I saw a manual bissell one in wilkinsons yesterday, £11.99 or so I think. Made me think of my nan, as I remember playing with hers as a kid. Did wonder if DS could manage to push it round!

We have a gtech at work, just seen it in action picking up all the rubbish under a photocopier that hasn't moved in 2 years. Did a not bad job, off to look at them now!

Thanks i hate Argos though! I'll get DH to get it!

Has anyone any experience of using a sweeper on laminate floors?

I have a little hand held dustbuster - which is awarkard to use on a whole room and am looking for a better alternative that I can run round with once a day.

I have a big upright vac as well but don't like to use this too much as it is very powerful and terrifys my toddler.

HinnyPet · 05/08/2010 20:51

Mine both hate the vacuum but it's so much better than the shitty sweeper on the laminate floor (can you tell I don't like it?) it leaves too much behind.
DCs sit on the stairs til I'm done, takes 2 mins, fine art.
