Ice Cream Makers

After much nagging, persuasion, emotional blackmail, my DH has offered to buy me an ice cream maker

My question to you wonderful intelligent lot is: what brand/model would you recommend?

I am currently tending towards the Magmix Gelato Chef 2200 - which has a built in freezer. Tbh, I would prefer one with its own freezer as I have limited freezer space, however, if you were evangelical about another type I could be persuaded!!!

I have a gelato chef - not v impressed; its really heavy, takes up loads of cupboard space and you have to watch the paddle like a hawk when it's churning as if you don't switch it off in time as the ice cream freezes and thickens, it can snap off.

Ice cream is gorgeous tho - mango sorbet my fave!
