Grouchy - I have been debating Cannon Hall Farm for this holiday but was told yesterday that children under 6 can no longer feed or touch the animals, did you see anything about it whilst you were there? - Also was it any good for a 4 year old. Heard loads of good things about it but never been. (Also didn't realise you were in the Yorkshire area)

Had a lie in this morning until 10.30am think DH feels guilty about being out all the time and me being left with DD so had a few child free hours, tried to sleep but my body is still aching too much. Have been and done shopping this afternoon and made buns with DD so not bad for a saturday but now the kitchen needs some serious cleaning as I can't see the side.

Right better clean the kitchen before dinner

MakingChanges It's true, kids under 6 cannot touch animals. It's lost a lot of it's petting zoo charm that it had previously. It has a good big playground area so, yeah a 4 yr old will love it, there were plenty of kids younger than Ed. In future we'll go to the farm at Temple Newsam in Leeds. It's closer for us. The Family Grouch are based in Kirklees, where are you?

Oh, if you are nearby, Batley's Wilton Park is having a Yorkshire Day celebration today.

Ed is at his GM and GD's this morning, he stayed last night so I'm having a lazy lie in. Today we create and populate the Ant Farm

Go, berries are ripening here I noticed as we all walked to the castle and back earlier.

Wendy hope you got to have your picnic in the park

Swan can't believe you are doing all that on your holiday! you are good

Haven't been on here at all as my sis and my nieces and nephews have been here since thurs and its very hectic, but nice.

Not too much bickering and mostly the bickering is between my sis children not mine [phew!] as the last time we all stayed together the boys (mine and hers) were awful!

trying now to get packed whilst having a houseful as dsis and co are off tom afternoon after we have had lunch with cousin and her children. Then half 6 on tues morning we are off on our holidays .

Grouchy we are in Sheffield. I'll leave it on the possible list if we run out of things then, doesn't sound as good as it used to.

Well today we went on an impromptu trip to Skegness, haven't been in ages. Had fish and chips and an ice-cream with fresh strawberries in, was heaven (but not good for the waistline).

Am struggling today with a pain in my leg. My leg was numb when I went to bed last night and now it painful in the back of the thigh, wondering if its a pull bu can't think i've done anything, also feeling quite hot this evening but only have a temp of 37.8. Thinking of going to bed with some pain relief and hoping i'm better in the morning (otherwise docs gonna think i'm a hypercondriact)

No plans at all for this week, really envious of you guys on holiday or going on holiday. We usually do in the bg hols to break the holiday up but this year we went in June. Think i'm gonna try and get out to the park etc to break up the boredom. Also need to sort under stairs (am sorting out a study area for my PGCE in september)

Back tomorrow, if I'm feeling better with a big list of a mixture of work and fun
