Is it just me or does anyone else clean their Fairy Liquid bottle?

not going mad, the cap (red bit) - I just find it gets all gunky. So, once a week, it gets swilled in the washing up water, brushed and then replaced - all clean.

Please tell me I'm not the only one... - DH thinks I'm mad with OCD obsessed.

Me too. DH always manages to make it absolutely revolting, despite not doing much washing up

gruber · 20/07/2010 15:26

Thank you ladies... I feel much reassured. It's not just me going mad - I can say to DH that it's normal!!

Of course!

And the soap dispensers too.

I love doing it because the songe/cloth goes all bubbly.

pebblejones · 21/07/2010 09:49

Me too, I also have to turn it around because my DH always leaves it facing the wrong way! Is that going a step too far?

DandyDan · 21/07/2010 22:45

Not the cap, but the bottle, because cleaning the fireplace and making the fire in winter, you get coal-dust all over it when you wash your hands after.

booyhoo · 21/07/2010 22:48

no i dont clean mine it never seems to get yucky but i do dunk my handwash bottle (it sits by the sink) into the basin when i have put in the clean water for doing the countertops. OH does this

Heartsease · 21/07/2010 22:48

I do. And my laundry liquid and fabric conditioner bottles too. I am not even especially clean and tidy. They are just crying out for it, very obviously .

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 21/07/2010 22:52

I do

Entirely normal I think.

iwanttobelola · 21/07/2010 22:59

perfectly normal I wash all bottles in bathroom once a week too !

mumtoblaire · 22/07/2010 07:13

Me too. Bottle, cap and must face forwards.

I also wash all bottle in bathroom once a week. Keep washing powder in plastic tub so that it can be wiped down.

I also dust/clean hoover

gruber · 22/07/2010 09:08

Hurrah! Not just me! iwanttobelola I wash the bottles in the bathroom too... but not done the fabric conditioner bottle yet (obviously need to start!)

I dust the hoover too mumtoblaire (is your Blaire a boy or girl?) and at night, the fairy liquid and handwash must face forward in a line on kitchen windowsill, in case neighbours happen to walk past and judge...

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2010 09:14

you are all mad!
I only do this if it's started gunking up and so stopped working

mumtoblaire · 22/07/2010 09:24

Blaire is girl.

Don't all your bottles face the same way anyway?

foureleven · 22/07/2010 09:30

Me too.. and the ketchup lid.

And I beat DP if he leaves the cap undone or the bottle facing the wrong way round.

I also have a small hoover to hoover the big hoover with.

mumtoblaire · 22/07/2010 09:43

Ohhh toothpaste cap......how difficult is it to get toothpaste out without lid getting all covered?

My DH is incapable of doing this, I think I clean toothpaste cap at least twice a day

foureleven · 22/07/2010 11:38

mumtoblair, get one that has to be fully unscrewed off. Harder for the mess monsters to fuck it up that way.

Honestly though, if everyone cleared up their little mishaps on the end of toothpaste tubes and washing up bottles as they wnet along, life would be much simpler hey.

pebblejones · 23/07/2010 09:18

A small Hoover to Hoover the big Hoover! I love it!

nannyl · 23/07/2010 09:28

i do as well... and my spray bottle, and my shampoo bottles, and any container on display that looks a bit gruby or has liquid running down the side!

mumtoblaire · 25/07/2010 10:49

We're all mad!!!!
