Road tar on Crocs - removal ideas?

Thing1Thing2 · 17/07/2010 17:00

My 2.5 DT got stuck on the road surface in a car park on holiday!

And now - the bottom of the shoe has road tar on it.

I don't care - its just sort of got integrated into the shoe. But my OCD toddler is now refusing to wear the shoe because its "dirty".

Help please!

(very that I posted this in AIBU by mistake)

You could try Sticky Stuff remover. You can buy it at Homebase.

Never tried it myself but a friend puts crocs in the dishwasher to clean them. Not sure that would even get tar off though or what it might do to your dishwasher if it did come off in there

Use a bit of petrol to remove the tar. Never thought this would be of use as a 'tip' but when we were little, my neighbor ran through the road barefoot just after it was tarred... I remember her dad cleaning her feet with petrol... the smell was awful, but it did work! Hope this helps.

Aren't crocs famously indestructible? If so maybe boil them!

freeze them
