Cleaning a wooden floor - what with?

posey · 12/07/2010 18:57

Recently moved house and have a lovely wooden floot throughout the downstairs. It isn't original floorboards nor is it laminate.
So far I've just swept it, but at some point it will need washing I guess. What do I use?
All help gratefully received, thank you

I use Method's Good For Wood and get good results.

I mop it with a bucket of water with a splash of Pledge Soapy Wood Cleaner in.

We have a mixture of old floorboards, old parquet and new glossy wood and its great on them all.

The trick it not to let it get too wet when you mop it.

I use floor wipes on mine - it dries quicker & you don't have to worry about it getting too wet...

Method floor cleaner for wooden floors is lovely and smells like marzipan.

Agree don't get the floor too wet. I ditched my bucket and put a diluted floor cleanig mix in a spray bottle, spray on floor and use a microfibre mop slightly damp to clean it off.

ban all persons from house as it will be rubbish if they tread on your floor.

pledge soapy wood cleaner and not too much water

Also have a look at one of these:
mop without water

Good for getting most of the dust off pre washing!
