Hello all,

Looking for some insight from the mumsnet Scottish community, particularly those who live in Glasgow.

Me and my partner are originally from the north east and moved back up here in 2021 to have our baby (we now have two boys, almost 1 year and 4 years). We previously lived in Glasgow (Battlefield), loved our life there but lockdown changed everything and we weren’t doing the usual city things we love and craved a bit of quiet, a garden and a safe place to raise kids. Fast forward 4 years and we are pretty unhappy here in rural Aberdeenshire and it’s not the life we expected. We miss the life and opportunities of Glasgow. The buzz and things to do!

So… where’s the best places to stay in Glasgow? We would like to stay somewhere with good links to city, bearsden/milngavie, giffnock?

We have an almost 4 year old and will have to apply to school soon. This is an ongoing worry as I know in my heart this won’t be the school he’ll stay in. So what’s the situation in nurseries at the moment in Glasgow? Waiting lists? How easy to get spaces in nursery and possibly school half way through year??

Or if anyway wants a house swap??!! We’ve a beautiful 4 bed house in Insch!

We’re also pretty open to moving near Edinrburgh but realise that this will be more pricey. We’re just in need of a fresh exciting start. ♥️
