Just wondering really whether home educators use tutors as well as doing it themselves.

I have tutored 2 children who were withdrawn from schools and had 4 months or so at home before relocating, and I really enjoyed it as it fitted in better with my timetable, was more flexible than going back to classroom teaching, and was really fun.

I'm wondering if it is a viable possibility to do this with more hours during the day, so I can be home for when my dc finish school, but I can earn some money too.

Do you think there's a market out there? I teach primary which I expect would be less in demand than secondary as the subject matter is less complex, but it would be nice!

My brother is a private tutor and he definitely has a few HEers on his books. And there's a thread on our local HE message board for people looking for/offering services as tutors.

So yes, there's a market out there.

What you need is to get your first contact and then, if you're good at it, the customers will start flooding in probably
